Unlocked Trials of Osiris Game mode
With the release of the Lightfall DLC coming to D2 this month on the 28th of February 2023 we have received more details regarding how the Trials of Osiris game mode will play out throughout its life cycle. The first big piece of Trials information we have received is the return of the Exile armor. This is the Egyptian armor which we first see in Season of Arrivals. For those who never had the chance to obtain this armor now will have access too. It is unknown yet if the Atavistic Idol armor will still be available alongside it or if that will be removed from the pool like the Pyrrhic Ascent armor set was. However, it is known that you will be able to obtain the old armor sets via Legacy Gear Focusing. A new system will be introduced in Season 20 of Lightfall that allows you to participate in Legacy gear focusing. Now you can obtain pieces of gear from the last several years of Destiny 2. The following sets of Legacy armor and gear will be available for focusing in Season 20. It will be interesting to see how Strand will effect the PVP sandbox and ultimately how it will be used in Trials of Osiris. All we have to go off is how Stasis effected the sandbox which if you remember completely took over with abilities such as shatter dive and cold snap grenades! However, Bungie has said that they have learnt from their past subclass mistakes and hope not to replicate them with the release of Strand, however, they don’t want the strand to miss the mark and be underutilised. It will be interesting to see how everything plays out when the Lightfall DLC lands and players begin to get their hands on the new abilities and begin to go head-to-head with one another.
