Destiny 2’s new season is upon us. In their TWAB, Bungie announced the Season of the Chosen’s release date along with its roadmap showcasing when and what new content the players can expect from the upcoming season. Unlike before, On Feb. 9, as the new season is unveiled, Players can immediately start two of the latest seasonal battlegrounds events and jump into the returning Devil’s Lair and Fallen S.A.B.E.R. Strikes. Moreover, adding further fuel to the excitement just like the Season of the Hunt, the new season is also bringing along its very own Pursuit weapon called the Salvager’s Salvo.
Players can choose a path between Strikes, Crucible, or Gambit to earn the new Breech Loaded Grenade Launcher, although it is yet unknown whether it will be kinetic or energy class. Even though the weapon’s perks are kept a secret, just as it was announced, many players were worried, rightly so, whether it would mark the second coming of the infamous Mountaintop. Mountaintop was a pinnacle weapon hailed as one of the most powerful weapons in the game and was renowned for taking down raid bosses with ease. Contrary to popular belief, since Bungie switched pinnacle weapons with pursuit weapons, it is improbable that we will get to see a Mountaintop 2 in the form of Salvager’s Salvo. Instead, it is more or less going to be like the god roll Truthteller with good PvE and PvP rolls just like every other ritual or pursuit weapon.
Additionally, aesthetically speaking, the weapon’s green color makes it very eye-pleasing and crosses on the weapon’s body, further elevate its beauty, giving it a punk-like vibe. Furthermore, once the players have obtained their new tool of destruction, they can further uplift their weapon’s beauty with three different ornaments for it by picking up additional quests from Zavala, Lord Shaxx, and the Drifter.
