Destiny 2’s latest dungeon boost is also its most vertical, and it will see you climbing down, up, and then down again through a Warmind-inspired tower. Spire of the Watcher includes three lootable encounters — pretty standard for a dungeon — as well as a few puzzles throughout to teach you the mechanics. Best of all, the dungeon is packed with cowboy-themed loot, so you can walk into Lightfall dressed to the nines and ready to ensure that Emperor Calus has yee’d his last haw.

In this guide, we’re going to teach you how to navigate the Spire of the Watcher’s new mechanics and encounters to help you take down some truly ancient Vex.

BONUS CHESTS AND COLLECTIBLES at spire of the watcher carry and recovery

Before we get started with the actual walkthrough, we want to make sure you know how to get a bit of extra loot and find all the collectibles. It’s worth noting that bonus chests can only drop loot from the dungeon that you’ve already acquired, so you should avoid getting the first chest during your first run.

Note: Our screenshots below don’t give much away outside of the chest locations, so we don’t consider this section much of a spoiler. However, if you want to go in completely blind and you’re just using this guide to double check that you’re moving in the right direction, we recommend you skip this section and come back later.

BONUS CHEST 1

A Guardian runs down a long bridge toward a bonus chestImage: Bungie via Polygon

The first bonus chest is before the first “real” encounter, but after you go down the slide. Proceed along the path until you enter the giant chasm filled with Vex. Shoot them down and cross the area using the scaffolding. When you land on the single edge on the side of the wall — Vault of Glass-style, if you’re familiar with the raid — climb up the nearby scaffolding until you reach a sky bridge. Stop.

A bonus chest sits on the side of a column in Destiny 2Image: Bungie via Polygon

Instead of moving toward the obvious objective, turn to your left and jump around the column that’s supporting the scaffolding you’re standing on. You’ll see a platform on the side of the column. Jump over to the little bridge to your left and then around the next column. You’ll find the chest sitting on a small platform.

BONUS CHEST 2

A Guardian looks down at a broken vent in Destiny 2Image: Bungie via Polygon

The second bonus chest is all the way at the end of the dungeon, just before the final boss fight.

When you’re descending the Spire of the Watcher and activating the red wires, you’ll eventually drop into the center of a room with a bunch of Tesla coils going on in a square around you. Defeat all the enemies inside and open the room up so you can proceed. Do not drop down the corners just yet, however.

Once the room is clear, go around to the four stairs in the room and look under them. Under each set of stairs is a vent that you can destroy. One of these vents — it’s the same vent each time, but the room is a perfectly square so you’ll probably need to check more than one — houses a secret compartment.

Blast open the vent, crawl inside, and grab the second bonus chest.

DEVILISH RECORDINGS

There are only six collectibles in the entire Spire of the Watcher dungeon, and you will find all of them before the dungeon’s second encounter — a far cry from previous dungeons’ collectibles.

If you need help finding these six recordings, we recommend checking out our separate Devilish Recordings guide.

THE OPENING ENCOUNTER — LEARNING THE MECHANIC

An army of Vex swarms around a Warmind door in Destiny 2Image: Bungie

Is that a new dungeon smell, or just the reek of time dilation all around you? It’s hard to say.

Welcome to the Spire of the Watcher, Destiny 2’s latest dungeon added in Season of the Seraph as part of the Witch Queen Dungeon Key expansion. This dungeon’s main mechanic is relatively simple compared to some of the game’s other dungeons, and you’ll need to learn (almost) all of it before you can enter the dungeon in earnest.

HOW THE WIRES WORK

A Guardian runs around a small town activating wires in Destiny 2Image: Bungie via Polygon

Spire of the Watcher’s main mechanic is all about restoring power to unpowered machinery. This is done by activating nodes along a giant wire.

Each wire has a beginning node and an end node, and usually there are several additional nodes along the way. The beginning node always has an arrow box next to it letting you know the direction of power flow. The end box is usually attached to a generator.

To activate these big, yellow wires, you’ll need to have a special buff called “Arctrician.” (Yes, that’s a play on electrician but with Arc, the Destiny universe’s version of electricity.) Each encounter has special orange-bar Minotaurs with Void shields who roam around causing trouble. If you kill them, they’ll drop a pool of white liquid on the ground. Unlike most pools of white liquid in Destiny, this one will not hurt you to stand in, and will instead give you the Arctrician buff for 30 seconds.

With the buff active, you’ll need to try to activate as many nodes along the encounter’s wires as possible, going in order from start to finish. Each time you activate a node, the powered section of the wire goes from yellow to blue and you’ll gain about five additional seconds on your Arctrician buff. That means if you go fast you can complete most encounters without running out of the buff and needing to pick it back up again.

Once part of a wire is powered up, you can’t de-power it. So even if you run out of Arctrician juice halfway through a wire, you have all the time you need to get it back.

There is one slight variation to this mechanic that we’ll get to later in the guide, but once you understand how to power up yellow wires, each encounter kind of solves itself outside of the damage phase.

HOW TO OPEN THE SPIRE AND REACH THE FIRST ENCOUNTER

A Guardian looks down at a door connected by a group of wires in Destiny 2Image: Bungie via Polygon

When you first land in the Spire of the Watcher, proceed forward and into the tiny town filled with Vex. Kill the Minotaur and grab the Arctrician buff.

Make your way to the massive generator in the center of town, beyond the huge black doors in the ground. Work backward from the generator to reach the genesis point of each of the four wires. Hit the first node and then follow the wire (being careful not to run into Supplicant Harpies, who will blow you to hell), activating the nodes along the way until you reach the generator.

Repeat this process until you’ve activated all four of the nodes on the generator and completed all four circuits.

When this baby encounter is finished, the doors will open under you and you’ll be able to slide down. This is a long tunnel, so be prepared to slow yourself down or you’re going to splat against the ground and die.

Follow the “secret” path (up and to the left) out of the room, through the massive chasm, and up to the middle point of the Spire. Once you place the Rally banner flag in the computer room, jump out the window, climb up the tower, and get ready for the first real encounter.

SPIRE ASCENT ENCOUNTER

A room filled with old computers looking out at a chasm in Destiny 2Image: Bungie

The Spire Ascent doesn’t have a boss fight and is really just a fun race to the first boss. However, you can technically fail this encounter if your entire team dies, so be careful as you climb.

HOW THE FIGHT WORKS

A Guardian shoots up at a wire node in Destiny 2Image: Bungie via Polygon

This fight is a larger and more hectic version of the entrance encounter. You’ll find yourself on the outside of the tower, working with two winding wires per floor to activate a grav lift and send you closer and closer to the top.

Grab the Arctrician buff and find the genesis point for both wires. Activate them both and carefully jump around the tower activating the other nodes in order. You’ll need to complete six total circuits on three different floors to finish the encounter. But once it’s over, you’ll finally get your first taste of dungeon loot with trials of osiris boost and account recovery.

TIPS AND TRICKS TO GO FAST

This encounter is a ton of fun for first-timers and repeat runners, albeit for different reasons. On your first time through, we recommend scouting out the nodes and the wires before you get the Arctrician buff, as some of them are hidden pretty well under stairs or on the sides of scaffolding.

Once you and your buddies have checked things out, grab the Arctrician buff and try to go as fast as possible. You should be able to finish each floor without ever dropping the Arctrician buff. And if you go really fast, you can still have some Arctrician left over to start the next floor.

AKELOUS, THE SIREN’S CURRENT BOSS FIGHT

Akelous, the Siren’s Current boss from the Spire of the Watcher dungeon in Destiny 2Image: Bungie

Once you reach the top of the Spire you’ll need to face down Akelous, the Siren’s Current. If you’ve played the Garden of Salvation raid from Shadowkeep, this creep should look pretty familiar to you. Carefully make your way around the tower to the Rally Flag, as the fight will start if you get too close to him.

HOW TO REMOVE AKELOUS’ SHIELD

A Guardian ignites a node in Spire of the Watcher in Destiny 2Image: Bungie via Polygon

The goal of this fight is to lower Akelous’ shield and then blow him up. To do that, you’ll need to activate some wires.

The arena for this fight consists of a small square platform in the middle and four long scaffolding arms extending off of that platform. At the end of each of the four arms is a fuel rod, and there is a generator in the middle of the square platform.

Grab the Arctrician buff from one of the Minotaurs that spawns on the arms and activate the four nodes in the middle of the square arena. These are the wire starting points. Go along each arm with your Arctician buff and follow the wires to the fuel rods, activating nodes as you go.

Once you’ve activated three of the four fuel rods, gather your group up together before activating the fourth …

TIPS FOR KILLING AKELOUS

A Guardian aims down at Akelous with a linear fusion rifle in Destiny 2Image: Bungie via Polygon

When you activate the fourth and final fuel rod, Akelous will get flustered and fly over to face you. It’ll flare out its Harpy wings, which are filled with little eyes. Blast the eyes as quickly as you can. When all the eyes are destroyed, a giant glowing point in the middle of its body will open up, allowing you to damage it for real.

We recommend using linear fusion rifles and snipers like Izinagi’s Burden for this fight. Start shooting the harpy as soon as the critical spot opens, and move forward along with the boss, which will be floating backward toward the square arena.

If you manage to get through the glowing part of the boss’ health bar, you’ll stun it and be able to do damage for another couple of seconds. If you don’t reach that halfway point, the boss will eventually close its shield up and shoot out a shockwave, which will boop you backward and (potentially) off the tower if you aren’t careful.

Either way, the boss will eventually become immune once again, and you’ll need to repeat the process above for activating the fuel rods.

THE DESCENT

A overhead look at red wires in the Descent section of the Spire of the WatcherImage: Bungie

Once you’ve felled Akelous, the middle platform will open up and you’ll be able to grab some loot on your way inside the Spire.

As you climb down, you’ll encounter the only real twist on the yellow wire formula: red wires.

HOW TO ACTIVATE THE RED WIRES

To activate red wires, you’ll still need to have the Arctrician buff from a Minotaur. However, you won’t need to activate red wires in any particular order. Instead you’ll simply need to tag all of the nearby red wire nodes with the Arctrician buff within a short time period.

If you do this correctly, all of the red wires should be blue and you’ll activate the circuit. If not, all of the red wires will lose power and you’ll need to activate all the nodes again.

PERSYS, PRIMORDIAL RUIN BOSS FIGHT

Persys, a giant wyvern and the final boss of Destiny 2’s Spire of the Watcher dungeonImage: Bungie

At the very bottom of the Spire you’ll find Persys, Primordial Ruin, the dungeon’s final boss. This jerk is a massive Wyvern, and it’ll stomp around the arena shooting at you and attempting to squash you with its massive feet. Thankfully there’s a way to take it down, but it’s a bit trickier than the rest of the dungeon.

HOW TO REMOVE PERSYS’ SHIELD

A map of the wires in the final boss room of the Spire of the Watcher dungeonImage: Reddit user HoldenAGrenade, with their permission

Like Akelous before it, Persys has a giant immune shield to keep it safe. If you want to get to the soft and squishy boss inside, you’ll need to take care of that shell first.

The Persys arena is divided into two rooms. The room you spawn in is what we’ll call the big room, and the room Persys spawns in is the reactor room. The goal here is to power up the reactor room with Persys inside and you still in the big room, which will lower its shield. But it’s going to take some work to do that.

When the fight starts, go to either side of the room and take out the two Vex Hydras that appear. This will cause the Minotaurs to spawn. Kill a Minotaur and steal its Arctrician buff.

On the four columns in the middle of the room (facing toward the Rally Flag), and on top of the big door leading to the reactor room, you’ll see a total of five red wire nodes. Use your Arctrician buff to activate the entire red wire circuit. This will activate two yellow wires in the room, allowing you to continue the fight.

Quickly locate the two active yellow wires (on the opposite sides of the four columns in the big room). Follow the nodes and activate the wires, following them from the big room into the reactor room and eventually the generators at the end.

However, do not complete the final circuits for both wires just yet, as it will start the reactor meltdown. You need to wait for the boss to lumber into the reactor room before you complete the circuits. Thankfully the boss mostly just chases your fireteam around, so it will likely follow your friends into the reactor room as long as you’re all together.

Once the boss steps over the threshold, finish the two circuits. You’ll get a notification that the reactor is going into meltdown mode and that you need to take cover. Head back into the big room — don’t worry about the boss, as it’ll be too preoccupied with the reactor to notice you.

Grab another Arctrician buff if you need it and keep an eye on the red wires you shot earlier in the fight. Shortly after you exit the reactor room, all five red wire nodes will become active again. Shoot all five with the Arctrician buff as quickly as you can. If you’re successful, you’ll shut the giant door between the two rooms, locking Persys inside.

When the reactor explodes, Persys will be vulnerable for a few seconds, which is your time to strike.

TIPS FOR KILLING PERSYS

A Guardian aims at some generator nodes in the final boss room of Destiny 2’s Spire of the Watcher dungeonImage: Bungie via Polygon

There are a few methods for killing Persys, but be forewarned, it has a lot of health.

We recommend standing in the middle of the big room with a Well of Radiance and either three rockets (including one Gjallarhorn, ideally), or two linear fusion rifles and one Divinity. Rockets deal far more damage than linear fusion rifles, but you’ll run out of ammo much quicker, and you may not get much back before the next phase. Linear fusion rifles, on the other hand, are far slower but much more consistent.

After a few seconds, the boss’ shield will come back online and you’ll need to start over from the very beginning of the fight. Thankfully this entire process is actually quite quick, so it won’t be too long between damage phases.

Once you have finally liberated Persys of all of its health, it’ll fall over dead and you’ll get two pieces of dungeon loot for your trouble.

Congratulations on conquering the Spire of the Watcher dungeon!

Nothing gets you into the festive mood quicker than some intense PvP action, and if you happen to hovering around the Destiny 2 Solar system this weekend, that’s exactly what’s on the menu as Trials of Osiris returns. This is a great time to test out the new Revision Zero Exotic pulse rifle in that arena and you can also check out where Xur is in case you want some new gear before you attempt a flawless run. Here’s where you’ll play Trials of Osiris this weekend and what weapons you can earn.

Map: Midtown

  • Reputation Rank 4: Upgrade Module x 2
  • Reputation Rank 7: Enhancement Prism x 3
  • Reputation Rank 10: Trials Weapon (Changes for each rank reset)
  • Reputation Rank 13: Upgrade Module x 2
  • Reputation Rank 16: Trials Weapon (Changes for each rank reset)
  • Flawless Reward: Whistler’s Whim (Adept)

forgiveness-boosting burden-of-guilt-boosting austinger-boosting beloved-boostingtrespasser-catalyst-boosting  100k-score-nightfall-boosting

Trials weapons now carry the Alacrity Origin Trait. It gives you increased aim assist, reload speed, stability, and range on your Trials guns when you’re the last living member of a fireteam or running solo. You can also choose to swap to the Crucible Origin trait, One Quiet Moment, which greatly enhances your gun’s reload speed when you reload while out of combat.

As always, Trials becomes available from Friday’s daily reset at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET until the weekly reset at the same time the following Tuesday. During that time, you can also pay a visit to Xur to see what Exotics he’s selling. Make sure to pay a visit to Saint-14 in the Tower to pick up a Trials boost card, which will dictate certain bonuses (such as whether you get bonus rewards at certain milestones or if a loss will be forgiven).

Trials of Osiris is a weekend PvP mode that runs from the daily reset on Friday until the weekly reset on Tuesday, giving you four days to take part. Your goal in the Trials is for you and the other two players in your fireteam to achieve a “Flawless” run, in which you win seven matches without losing any.

Go Flawless and you’ll earn a trip to the Lighthouse and receive some special rewards, including the new Adept weapons. These have additional stat bonuses, making them among the most coveted items you can get your hands on.

Thanks to a bunch of changes to Trials this year, though, the mode is a little easier to get into than it has been. The Trials of Osiris now features matchmaking, so you can jump into matches even if you don’t have a full squad of three players to take it on. Your Trials Passage–the card you purchase from Saint-14 that grants you access to the mode and tracks your wins–now does not track your losses–so you can keep playing and earning rewards even if you lose out on a Flawless run. Bungie has also adjusted Trials so that you earn rewards based on the number of rounds, rather than matches, you’ve won during your session, and added a reputation system that’s similar to the Crucible and Gambit, making it easier to earn some of the Trials of Osiris’s unique loot.

Finally, you’ll earn Trials Engrams for participating in the mode, which you can cash in with Saint-14 during the weekend you receive them. You can tune those engrams to yield specific pieces of loot, or take your chances with random drops that will expand what’s available in your loot pool. So even if you’re just jumping into Trials alone, there are plenty of ways you can earn great new gear.

Here is the Spire of the Watcher loot table in Destiny 2

It’s also bringing in plenty of loot to chase, including a slew of Tex Mechanica Legendary guns, the first of their kind. Between a Dead Man’s Tale-esque Legendary scout rifle and a breech-loading grenade launcher that shoots two grenades per trigger pull, players have plenty to look out for in Spire of the Watcher boost.

The armor may not be anything to scoff at either. The gear from the Spire of the Watcher dungeon matches the cowboy aesthetic from the Tex Mechanica guns, making for a unique armor set that will be a perfect fit for any space cowboys in the solar system.

In addition to the unique gear and armor, players can find reissued versions of the Seventh Seraph Carbine (450rpm Kinetic auto rifle) and Seventh Seraph Officer Revolver (180rpm Void hand cannon). These old guns come with new perks, and just like the rest of the Spire of the Watcher weapons, they can roll with Reconstruction and Redirection, perks formerly exclusive to Deep Stone Crypt raid with trials of osiris carry.

Any players who are keen on diving into the Spire of the Watcher dungeon for gear have good news ahead of them, too: while Spire of the Watcher is the Pinnacle dungeon, players can farm it endlessly and they’ll continue to have a shot at loot from that encounter—even if they haven’t obtained it yet. If you want a scout rifle, for instance, you can do the first encounter over and over until you get the weapon or even a better roll. This means players have more than enough chances to get the loot they want.

Of course, to know exactly how to get that one piece of gear you’ve been eyeing or that one weapon you’re curious about, you’ll need to know exactly where it drops. Here is the Spire of the Watcher loot table in Destiny 2, based on our testing and on data

Destiny 2 Season 19 Season of the Seraph All Major Additions and Changes Coming to the Game – Exotic Reworks, New Armor Sets, and More

Destiny 2 Season 19 Season of the Seraph Featured Image

Destiny 2 Season 19 is starting off as a big mystery. It is now been announced to be Season of the Seraph. Even hours before the release of the season, Bungie has only scheduled the release of the trailer 4 hours before the start of maintenance. What is so secretive about this season that they’ve opted to not hype it up as they usually do? It would seem as though Bungie has added a lot more than previously expected. It’s a good start but we’ll see if it holds up until the launch of Lightfall.

For more information on the new season, check out our Destiny 2 Season of the Seraph article.

In this article, we’re going through all the Destiny 2 season 19 major changes that we’re excited about. You can see the full TWAB here, but be warned – it is a very LONG TWAB.

Destiny 2 Season 19 Ritual Activities Loot Pool Changes

It’s been a while since Bungie has decided to shake things up in the ritual weapons loot pool. We are kinda sad that some of these are going to be vaulted but overall, we are happy with any sort of change at this point in time.

Trials of Osiris Boost

New weapons:

  • Exalted Truth Suros Adaptive Hand Cannon + Adept
  • Unwavering Duty Suros Adaptive Machine Gun + Adept

Weapon removed from loot pool:

  • Aisha’s Embrace Scout Rifle
  • Reed’s Regret Linear Fusion Rifle

Iron Banner

New weapons:

  • Dark Decider Auto Rifle
  • Gunnora’s Axe Slug Shotgun

Weapon removed from loot pool:

  • Forge’s Pledge Pulse Rifle
  • Riiswalker Shotgun

Nightfall

New weapons:

  • Wendigo GL3 Heavy Grenade Launcher
  • Hung Jury SR4 Scout Rifle

Weapon removed from loot pool:

  • Silicon Neuroma Sniper Rifle
  • Duty Bound Auto Rifle

Destiny 2 2 Season 19 New Armor Sets

From the Assassin’s Creed set alone, you know that Bungie’s getting really ambitious with those crossovers. But that’s not all that was announced. We are also getting the Arc 3.0 High Voltage armor set, returning Taken King Iron Banner armor set, and a brand new Warmind-themed armor set to commemorate Season 19.

And that’s just the promotional stuff, what they left out to say are the new Season Pass Armor, Dungeon Armor, and the Dawning Armor sets.

Destiny 2 Season 19 Teaser Banner

Destiny 2 Season 19 Notable Sandbox Changes

Seraph Rounds added to certain weapons

This magazine mod combines the penetration from Armor-Piercing Round, the guaranteed ricochets from Ricochet Rounds, and the flinch increase form High-Caliber Rounds.

They will be added to certain

Craftable Deep Stone Crypt Weapons

Starting in Season 19, Deep Stone Crypt weapons will be craftable. This is huge for anyone wanting to have that perfect weapon with your most desired perks. Additionally, the weapons will be receiving their own Origin Trait.

Here’s the catch though. You can’t farm the same raid over and over again if it’s not the featured raid for the week. This sucks but all the more reason to be there more often when it is the featured activity. And no, the first week of the season is not going the week that it is featured. Check out our weekly reset article for more on that.

New Dungeon spire of the watcher boost

We’re getting on a new dungeon. The details of which we’ll know more closer to its launch date of December 09. But based on the trailers, we might be looking at going to a space station.

In any case, look forward to new Legendary Weapons and a new Dungeon Exotic with the new armor set.

Destination Materials Sunset and Master Rahool Changes

Starting in Season 19, players will no longer be able to obtain the following:

  • Dusklight Shards
  • Microphasic Datalattice
  • Helium Filaments
  • Baryon Boughs
  • Spinmetal Leaves
  • Glacial Starwort

The items that you have currently will still be in your inventory but their only use now is to trade with Master Rahoor for glimmer. Additionally, items that once required them as part of a trade – enhancement core and prism, for example – will have those pre-requisites removed without changing their glimmer cost.

And finally, starting from Destiny 2 Season 19, you’ll be able to exchange the following items for glimmer:

  • Dark Fragment
  • Phantasmal Fragment
  • Herealways Piece

Shotgun Shot Patterns

Starting in Destiny 2 season 19, all shotguns are receiving a sweeping change with regards to the spread pattern. Think Apex Legends and and how each shotgun has a unique spread shape. Well, now each class of shotgun is getting the following changes.

  • Aggresive: Fixed, evenly distributed cone
  • Precision: Vetical Oval
  • Lightweight: Diamond
  • Rapid-Fire: Square
  • Slug: Point at a small center

Destiny 2 Season 19 Competitive Rework

Destiny 2 is getting a ranked system similar to other live-service games. It’s going to get a ladder system with different ranks and emblems. Unfortunately, there’s not much to it. Other than showing off your rank, there doesn’t seem to be much in the way of rewards for your working hard for your rank.

  • Competitive Division / Freelance 3v3
    • This is now a playlist, randomly picking Survival, Rift, and Showdown
    • These modes showcase a variety of playstyles designed to show how good you really are.
    • Uses a new SBMM setting built using concepts we developed for loose SBMM tuning, but tightened to match you more closely against opponents of your Skill.

As for their reasoning for the lack of rewards, Bungie stated, “Since Competitive division is aimed at drawing a close link between Skill and division, we don’t see division as something to really grind for rewards. We don’t want someone to feel pressure to play tons of games looking for a drop, all while your Division Rating drops and you ruin your division standing.”

“Instead, we want the primary motivator to be your actual division. We aren’t going to be adding any unique grindable rewards outside of those you can get anywhere in Crucible, and really focus our rewards on weekly participation and achieving higher divisions.”

Destiny 2 Season of the Seraph New Matchmade Activity – Heist Battlegrounds.

This is a new activity that’s part of the season, and similar to Psi-ops battlegrounds. Our Guardians, or Seraph agents now, are going to be deployed to multiple destinations to infiltrate Braytech facilities, bypass advanced defense systems, and neutralize hordes of Wrathborn.

You can expect this to have multiple stages throughout the season as more levels get added per week.

New Exotic Mission Operation Seraph’s Shield

Along with the activity, we’re also getting a new Exotic Mission in the form of Seraph’s Shield. According to the description of the mission, Guardians must gain access to the most impenetrable facility in the solar system: a Braytech orbital platform above the Last City.

And it looks like this is going to be a weekly mission as we are going to be tasked to break through layers of security on a weekly basis with the hopes of reawakening the AI Warmind Rasputin before it falls into enemy hands. At some point before reaching the core, however, we’re going to get the new exotic weapon, the Revision Zero Scout Rifle. It will become available starting on December 20.

Destiny 2 Season 19 Exotic Reworks

There are more or less 25 Exotic Reworks coming in Season 19 but in our opinion, many of the changes are merely a rebalance of damage values and barely fit the definition of rework.

Here are all the changes that are noteworthy.

Borealis, Hard Light, Dead Messenger

  • The Fundamentals perk will gain some of the benefits of Elemental Capacitor but in this case it’s not tied to the Guardian’s elemental type but the current active elemental type on the weapon.
    • Arc: +25 handling and +5 range.
    • Solar: +35 reload speed and +20 airborne effectiveness.
    • Void: +20 stability and +10 aim assist.
  • On top of that, the Borealis will now be able to refill ammo from reserves after breaking a matched shield and allows the next 5 shots to deal bonus damage. Reloading does not reset.

Jade Rabbit Redefined

  • Quickly landing 3 crits returns a round to the magazine and increases the damage of your next body shot.
  • Stacks up to 3 increased damage body shots.
  • Resets if reloaded.

The primary issue with Jade Rabbit in the past is that the gun was inconsistent. This change is meant to make the gun more reliable but we feel like it’s losing some of its charm because the gun would sometimes bug out and deal unbelievable amounts of damage seemingly out of nowhere. We shall see where this change goes when it goes live.

Witherhoard, Divinity, and Gjallarhorn Nerfs

  • Witherhoard
    • Reduced Taken portal duration from 7.5s to 4.5s.
  • Divinity with Tether or Tractor Cannon
    • Reduced Divinity’s weaken from 30% to 15% (still self-buffs to 30%).
  • Gjallarhorn
    • Reduced primary rocket’s impact and denotation damage by 25% (Wolfpack Rounds are unaffected).
    • This just brings it into the desired band without nerfing it past other Rocket Launchers.

The idea of this is to encourage more variety in weapon and team compositions. One need only look at the King’s Fall raid Day One and you’ll find all three weapons being part of the vast majority of teams. That really isn’t good overall. Then again, there’s a reason why they’re powerful, to begin with.

Dead Man’s Tale

  • Nows prefers critical hits over body hits in hip-fire if both types of targets are inside the precision aim cone.
  • Increased body shot damage from 46 to 54, and reduced crit damage from 81 to 80.

The poster child of “Look at what they’ve done to my boy”, the once iconic DMT has seen nerf after nerf over the span of many seasons. Hopefully, this change is a sign that Bungie doesn’t want to completely kill this gun off.

D.A.R.C.I

  • Now applies Jolt when damaging targets affected by Personal Assistant.
  • Increased base airborne effectiveness to 80.

As much as we want to say that this is a good change to the neglected Sniper Rifle, we believe that it is far better if they moved it from the Heavy slot to the Energy slot, where it truly belongs. It’s a fun little gun but it probably won’t see much action even after the change.

The Prospector

  • Added Chain Reaction to the intrinsic perk.

This one change has moved the weapon from a niche fun gun to a must-have ad clearing machine. With Chain Reaction on, explosions are going keep happening as long as there are enemies are close to each other.

Coldheart

  • Reduced cooldown on Ionic Trace generation from 3.5s to 2s.
  • Now makes out stability and reload speed when at maximum damage.
  • Picking up an Ionic Trace now reduces the time it takes to get to max damage.

Have to like this one. Even with the introduction of Arc 3.0 last season, Coldheart was still an underwhelming weapon. These new changes might be enough to get it over the edge and allow the weapon to see more use.

Grand Overture

  • Increased missile damage by 50%.

If you like to see things go boom then you’re really going to love this change. It’s not the most groundbreaking change ever but seeing the Grand Overture get some love really makes you feel good. At least it’ll perform as good as it looks.

Inside the Destiny 2 & Assassin’s Creed collaboration

Bungie and Ubisoft detail the exciting task of crossing over elements of these iconic worlds to mark the launch of new armor content, available today.

This week, fans of two legendary games will enjoy the spoils of an amazing collaboration as Bungie and Ubisoft have joined forces to bring new content to both Destiny 2 and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla; content inspired by each other’s games and bridging the gap between these two fan-favorite universes

Inside the Destiny 2 & Assassin’s Creed collaboration

Coinciding with the launch of the new Season in Destiny 2, Season of the Seraph, Bungie is bringing a host of new content inspired by the Assassin’s Creed universe into Destiny 2. Guardians will have the chance to don new armor ornaments and cosmetics inspired by Ubisoft’s famed adventure franchise, including three new class-specific armor ornament sets: a Hunter ornament set inspired by Kassandra from Assassin’s Creed Odyssey; a powerful-looking Titan set inspired by Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s Eivor; and a mysterious Warlock set inspired by the iconic Altaïr from the original Assassin’s Creed. In addition, Guardians will also be able to purchase a new ship, Sparrow, Ghost, and new finisher, all influenced by Assassin’s Creed lore.

Today Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will bring new content inspired by Destiny 2. A new character pack will feature two new armor sets featuring Destiny characters Lord Shaxx and Saint-14 and two Swords inspired by a pair of iconic Exotic Destiny weapons: the Gjallarhorn Rocket Launcher and the Thorn Hand Cannon. In addition, a new weapons pack includes four new weapons that have been designed with Destiny’s subclasses in mind, including their own custom effects and gameplay perks.

Bringing history (and the future) to life

For the Bungie team, the opportunity to bring Assassin’s Creed’s world of historical action into the sci-fi fantasy universe of Destiny was a unique opportunity. That was especially true when it came to bringing a trio of iconic Assassin’s Creed characters to life as Guardians.

“We had to consider how well each of the characters we chose would fit into the different Destiny Guardian classes,” says Bungie’s Ian McIntosh. “It was very easy to imagine Altaïr as a Warlock because his long robes perfectly fit the typical Warlock look in Destiny 2. We thought Eivor, being very tough and carrying a shield, would make a great Titan. And Kassandra works well as a Hunter because of a lot of similarities she has with that class—there’s the lightweight leather and cloth garb as well as her stealthy fighting style.”

“The Assassin’s Creed character style, which I would describe as fantasy inspired by the fashion of the historical period in which each story takes place, has a lot of similarities to what you might see in Destiny 2,” McIntosh continues. “Both games draw inspiration from the real world and then put their own unique twist on it. The one missing ingredient though, which you always see in Destiny 2, was the science fiction element. For these armor ornaments, we mixed in a few additional hard surface armor components that have that classic Destiny look to them. The best example is the addition of Guardian helmets, which replace the human faces.

“Of course we wanted to incorporate certain iconic design elements that help define each of the Destiny Guardian classes into these armor sets as well. For example, we gave the Kassandra Hunter armor a long cape, and we added a Warlock bond class item to the Altaïr set. To fit it into the Destiny lore a little better, we altered the design of the shield on the back of the Eivor Titan armor, so it looks more like a traditional Destiny Titan shield.”

The team at Ubisoft had its own challenge: instead of taking Assassins into the future, they were taking Guardians into the past. Nowhere is that more apparent than with the new Gjallarhorn Sword that’s found in the new Character Pack in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. The challenge here wasn’t just to create a great-looking and functional weapon that Valhalla players would enjoy, it was to translate the famed Exotic Rocket Launcher from Destiny into an entirely new form—a great sword that was just as useful on the battlefield during raids in the 9th century as its projectile-firing counterpart was while taking down swarms of Hive or Vex.

“We did a few design iterations and explored how the Rocket Launcher could be translated in the Assassin’s Creed world. Through the different designs, we asked ourselves how much of it can be a Sword and a Rocket Launcher while still preserving the wolf crest, barrel, and color palette since they need to be central in all the designs while still being functional. We were essentially making a gun-sword, so we paid attention to where the projectiles can logically come out off and still make sure that there’s a good balance between the blade and the barrel of the Sword,” says Ubisoft’s JP Tan.

As the Ubisoft team put it, working on the Destiny character and weapons packs were labors of love. “We wanted to make sure that if we wanted to make this weapon, we would do it right. This is a love letter from us to those who enjoy the stories and experiences of these wonderful games,” says Ubisoft’s Ren Gomos.

Destiny 2’s new Season, Season of the Seraph, is available now and will feature a new three-person matchmade activity called Heist Battlegrounds, as well as a new Exotic mission. In addition, the new Spire of the Watcher dungeon will launch in Destiny 2 on December 9.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s latest title update is available now. In addition to the new Destiny content, the update includes two free new quests. The first, titled The Last Chapter, will bring an intimate closure to the saga of Eivor the Wolf-Kissed. The second quest features Roshan from Assassin’s Creed Mirage, where you will see her in action with Eivor as they discover they share a common enemy.

In the Crucible, how do you get the Destiny 2 Rose Hand Cannon?

The competitive playlist for the Crucible has been updated and now includes the classic Destiny 2 Hand Cannon, Rose, as a reward.

You can get it here today!

https://www.guardianboost.com

The Destiny 2 Rose hand cannon is one of the new guns we’re getting in the Season of the Seraph, though truth-be-told, it’s not actually all that new. Rose first appeared during the Season of Opulence as part of the Lumina exotic questline, but that was all the way back in 2019. With the new revamped Crucible, Bungie has also brought back this beloved hand cannon for players to earn.

It’s got some pretty nasty PvP rolls, too, with Quickdraw and Explosive Payload in its perk pool. For those just starting the Season of the Seraph, you might want to know how Override Frequency(opens in new tab) works, and where to find all of the chests on Luna and Europa so you can get red border Seventh Seraph weapons. Otherwise, here’s what you need to do to claim Rose in the new season of Destiny 2.

How to get Rose in Destiny 2

To earn Rose, the returning legendary hand cannon, you’re going to have to first complete your placement series in the new overhauled Crucible. Essentially, these seven matches played in the competitive playlist determine where you start in terms of rank, and how far you’ll have to push in this season to get to platinum rank. Make sure you head to Shaxx first in the Tower in order to grab the quest.

The Destiny 2 Rose Hand Cannon is returned, and you may obtain it by finishing your placement matches in the revamped Competitive Crucible format. Or, at the very least, you would be able to if the drops weren’t broken. Players may recall Rose from many seasons ago, when it was essential to completing the Lumina Exotic Hand Cannon objective, but it has been reintroduced for Destiny 2 with random rolls, several potent perk combinations, and a unique Lightweight Frame intrinsic characteristic, which gives it excellent handling. What you need to do to acquire Rose in Destiny 2 is as follows.

It should be noted that the Rose Hand Cannon reward drop is presently broken, and players are not receiving the weapon after completing their placement matches.

We’re looking into a problem with the Rose.

How to get the Rose hand cannon in Destiny 2

The Rose Hand Cannon has returned in Destiny 2 as a prize for completing the new ranked Crucible experience with Destiny 2 competitive rankings. To obtain Rose, you must complete seven placement matches for your Placement Series and be assigned to a Competitive Division – in other words, jump into the Competitive Crucible playlist and play your first seven matches. You should also pick up Lord Shaxx’s ‘Dividing the Ladder’ quest, which serves as an introduction to the revamped Competitive mode and walks you through the Placement Series.

As previously said, this is presently bugged, and players are not receiving Rose after finishing their placement matches.

You may also earn a roll of the Rose Hand Cannon by completing a Competitive Division assignment in the Competitive playlist once a week. This challenge is available for each character, allowing you to obtain three Rose rolls per week.

Destiny 2 Touch of Malice Guide – How to Get Touch of Malice

Avast Guardians, Season of Plunder is here! This space pirate-themed Destiny 2 season is all about crossing blades with Fallen House of Salvation, hunting for buried treasure, and working with everyone’s favorite scoundrel, the Drifter. Of course, there is a bunch of new loot to chase and activities to complete. Of course, the biggest piece of content added into the game is the reprised raid from the original Destiny, King’s Fall. Set aboard Oryx’s ship, this raid is considered by many to be one of the best activities in the franchise’s history. Here’s how to unlock the King’s Fall exotic weapon Touch of Malice in Destiny 2:

Destiny 2 Touch of Malice

How to Get Touch of Malice

Similar to other Destiny 2 raids, the Touch of Malice boosting is a random drop at the end of the final encounter. Originally tied to a quest in the first game, Touch of Malice now only drops from the chest that spawns after you slay Oryx. It’s not a guaranteed drop, so don’t expect everyone to snag one right away. Additionally, you can only try for Touch of Malice once a week per character. Meaning if you have three characters you will have three chances per week. Obviously, this isn’t ideal, but most raid exotic weapons are designed to be rare and give you a reason to consistently play them.

Fro the unfamiliar, the Touch of Malice is slightly different in Destiny 2 than the original. While this gun will still siphon the user’s life for increased damage, it will also charge a Taken blight. You can then release this blight with the weapon’s alternate firing mode to shroud your foes in darkness along with blinding them. This will give the Touch of Malice a bit more utility than before and possibly make it quite effective in endgame activities like Grandmaster Nightfalls or other raids.

Looking for more Destiny coverage? We already have guides up on the Season 18 Seasonal Mods, a look at the Season of Plunder calendar, and a list of known bugs and issues. If you’re looking towards the future, we have a guide on everything we know about the new Strand subclass, the new Neptune zone coming with Lightfall, and the in-game loadout feature. And if you’re a Fortnite fan, check out the crossover where Zavala, Ikora, and the Exo Stranger are in Fortnite, while three skins from Epic’s title have made the jump to Destiny 2 as universal ornaments.

he Touch of Malice is a high RoF-lower Impact archetype of Scout Rifle. This means that one would be tempted to repeatedly press the trigger to quickly fire off rounds, but there’s a hidden perk: Full Auto. This makes it so that the player can simply hold down the trigger and reduce the stress on their finger. The Instrinsic Perk is the weapon’s namesake: the last round in the magazine instantly regenerates and deals double damage at the cost of the wielder’s life force. Even with your health slowly going down, the potentially endless stream of bullets allows this weapon to open up a niche in doing high, uninterrupted DPS against PvE bosses. And if one can take advantage of the Touch of Mercy perk, where three rapid kills instantly start health regeneration, then the wielder will be able to keep up on DPS on the boss. Even with the massive questline required to obtain it, as well as the fact that you can kill yourself while using this weapon, the reward is well worth it.

The weapon’s perk perfectly fits the raid that is needed to obtain it. During the final fight against Oryx, many strategies have the player stand in the an Aura of Immortality to deal damage to Oryx. Thus, using the double damage perk of the final round coupled with the Aura allow for massive damage to be dealt. Other strategies involved using player controlled health bonuses to use Touch of Malice outside of the Raid. For example, one could use the Titan super Ward of Dawn to have Blessing of Light and have increased health.

Trials of Osiris boost has returned for another round in Destiny 2, proving that more people are willing to play it when it’s Freelance, despite the featured weapon not being the most popular one.

Bungie seems to be experimenting with Trials of Osiris, especially in the past few weeks and the goal is likely to determine what will get Destiny 2 players to join the game mode.

During the last week, we had double progression as the points kept showering even if you lost the game but building reputation with Saint-14 is hardly a good enough compensation for the depressive matches where groups of solo players constantly get destroyed by stacks.

The latest version of Trials is Freelance but it doesn’t have the double reputation and the Adept weapon of the week is the Summoner, an auto rifle that is not necessarily highly sought-after as everyone is still yearning for the Fusion Rifle.

Despite lacking gear and progression incentives, the matchmaking doesn’t hit any bumps and matches are found extremely quickly which indicates a high number of players queuing up for the mode. The only possible explanation here is that people are rushing in to fight for their loot on somewhat even terms.

Granted, matchmaking can derp out and stack up more good players into one team but it is a much more even affair than knowing you will run into premades while your hunter jumps out of cover for no reason only to eat up a team shot.

In any case, it’s quite obvious Freelance is more desirable than the “normal” Trials nad after this weekend, Bungie is undoubtedly going to receive more requests for making Freelance the default version.

Destiny 2 – New Trials of Osiris loot

Bungie is looking for ways to improve the players’ desire to play Trials in Season 17 so they made Hunters look like monkeys.

Trials of Osiris gear is usually themed after Egyptian symbology but this time around it appears Bungie’s creative direction is branching out. Come Season 17, Guardians will have the opportunity to earn some new gear in the most exclusive PvP activity in Destiny 2 .

The picture above shows some of the new rewards, which include a Ghost Shell, Fusion Rifle, Sidearm and three armour sets, one for each class. It looks like Titan armour set is themed after rams, or maybe sheep, while Hunters are depicted as monkeys. Given their proclivity for jumping and climbing everything they see, someone hit the nail on the head with this one.

Warlock set is themed after some sort of bird of prey but we didn’t really analyze it enough to know for sure which one it is. However, it’s possible it’s a falcon since the new Sparrow that will be available for the hardcore PvP community is called Falcon’s Chase.

All of the aforementioned rewards will go live on June 10, 2022, and you have until then to farm the current loot pool. That means there is only one Friday left, which should technically translate into just as many Trials of osiris boost appearances since the current season is ending on the next weekly reset.
